Swaminarayan Akshardham is one of Gujarat's most famous spiritual and cultural landmarks, located in Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat, India. The temple complex was inspired by Yogiji Maharaj and created by Pramukh Swami Maharaj of the BAPS Swaminarayan organization. It was officially inaugurated on 2 November 1992.

The temple was built over approximately 13 years as a tribute to Bhagwan Swaminarayan, his life, teachings, and spiritual legacy. The word "Akshardham" refers to the eternal divine abode of God in the Swaminarayan tradition.

The Akshardham monument is an outstanding example of traditional Hindu temple architecture.

- 97 intricately carved pillars

- Built without the use of steel or iron, following ancient Vedic architectural principles.

The central sanctum houses a magnificent 7-foot-tall gold-leafed idol of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The idol is accompanied by statues of Gunatitanand Swami and Gopalanand Swami, important spiritual figures in the Swaminarayan tradition.
