Sri Aurobindo and Pondicherry (Puducherry)
Sri Aurobindo (1872–1950) was an Indian philosopher, spiritual leader, poet, and nationalist. After actively participating in India's freedom movement, he moved to Pondicherry (now Puducherry) in 1910 to focus on spiritual practice and philosophy.
- Sri Aurobindo established the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry.
- The Ashram became a center for spiritual growth, meditation, education, and self-development.
- He worked closely with Mirra Alfassa, known as "The Mother," who later guided the Ashram's activities.
Philosophy
